Quick summary

This aircraft engine parts RFQ review covers every requirement posted on Aviatrading between 3 and 11 September — thirteen in all, listed in full below with part number, platform, condition and quantity. Two things stand out against the August review. Engines and engine accessories carry the list — seven of the thirteen lines — and three of them are complete powerplants rather than piece parts. And the appetite for used material has come back: where August ran fifteen new lines out of sixteen, September splits seven new against six serviceable, overhauled or as-removed.

What buyers asked for

Every line below is a live requirement. Condition codes follow the usual convention: FN factory new, NE new, SV serviceable, OH overhauled, AR as removed.

Three things this list tells a seller

The demand has moved to the powerplant. Seven of the thirteen lines are engines or engine accessories: an AE3007A2, an M250-B17F assembly, an Arriel 2D, a CFM nozzle, a GKN air turbine starter, a starter generator for the H130 and a fuel management interface module. Three of those — the AE3007A2, the M250-B17F and the Arriel 2D — are whole engines or engine assemblies, not components. That is a different kind of enquiry from a box of bearings. It moves slowly, it involves a teardown report and a full trace pack, and the seller who wins it is usually the one who can answer documentation questions in the first reply rather than the third.

Used material is back on the list, and it sits at the top of the value scale. Six lines are specified as serviceable, overhauled or as removed, and they are the expensive ones: both complete engines, the CFM nozzle, the cockpit camera assembly for the ATR, the control amplifier and the A319 door tool. Every one of the cheap consumable lines is new. This is the same split we described when we wrote about what a certificated source actually means for used serviceable material — the paperwork effort only pays for itself when the price gap is large, and on a small new-manufacture item it never is.

Single units dominate, so quoting speed matters more than stock depth. Nine of the thirteen lines are for one piece. The exceptions are the ATR camera assembly at five, the control amplifier and the extinguisher at three each, and the AE3007A2 at two. A list like this does not reward the largest inventory; it rewards whoever answers first with a firm price, a condition and a release document reference. If your quoting process involves a round trip to a supplier before you can name a number, you are already behind on nine of these thirteen.

What it means if you are buying

Three of these requirements are complete engines or engine assemblies, and that is where buyers in developing markets lose the most time. Decide before you post whether you are buying outright or taking an exchange unit, and say so in the requirement — the commercial shape of the deal changes the shortlist of sellers who can serve you, which we set out in detail in our note on exchange versus outright for ageing fleets. A requirement that leaves this open collects offers that cannot be compared with each other.

The second point is timing. Ten of the thirteen lines above were posted inside a single 48-hour window on 10 and 11 September; the other three had been sitting on the board since the first week of the month. Requirements do not arrive evenly, and neither do the answers. If your part is on a long lead time, post it early and leave it up rather than waiting until the aircraft is on the ground — a point that applies with particular force where customs clearance adds its own weeks, as we covered for Indonesia and the Philippines.

How this list is put together

Everything above comes from requirements posted publicly on Aviatrading during the period stated. We publish part number, item description, platform, condition code, quantity and posting date, and nothing else. Buyer names, companies and contact details never appear in these reviews — if you want to reach a buyer, you do it through the platform, by quoting against their requirement.

The aggregate observations above are drawn only from the thirteen lines in the table. Where we say engines carry the list, we mean seven of these thirteen; where we say used material is back, we mean six of these thirteen; where we compare with August, we mean the sixteen lines in last month’s review.

These reviews go out when there is enough on the board to be worth reading rather than on a fixed weekly slot, which in practice means every week or two.

Quote against these requirements

Every part number in the table links to the live requirement. If you hold the item, or can source it, register as a seller on Aviatrading and quote directly — every transaction on the platform is protected by escrow, so payment moves only when the deal closes. If you are on the buying side and your requirement is not on this list, post it as an RFQ and let verified sellers come to you. New requirements appear continuously on our Telegram channel.
